Plaquemine Community Center & Henry Nadler Pavilion

The beautiful Plaquemine Community Center, located at 23245 Short Street, was completed in October of 2022, and has been booked with both community and private events since its opening. The 15,000 square feet Community Center accommodates up to 641 people, and includes a state-of-the-art kitchen, ample restrooms and a nice lobby area, all attached to the Henry Nadler Pavilion, a covered, open-air pavilion.

The Community Center was originally a huge factory of the Nadler Foundry & Machinery Co., an important part of Plaquemine's economy from the late 1800s until the late 1900s. The original steel structure of the factory remains in tact, but the building was gutted and completely transformed with new walls, floor, roof, plumbing, wiring, stucco and brick. The original overhead cranes, hoists and catwalks from the factory remain in both the community center and pavilion as a nod to the Nadler Foundry history.

The community center features a huge stage with stage lighting, dressing room off the stage, storage and a roll-up door that will allow for renters to bring in any equipment or furnishings.

The 11,000 square feet Henry Nadler Pavilion features a beautiful open air space with huge fans. Like the Community Center, the area was gutted other than the steel structure, and it has a new roof, skin, floor, electrical and plumbing. It can be rented separately from the Community Center.
