The Mayor and Board of Selectmen of the City of Plaquemine, State of Louisiana are proposing to amend Part I, Chapter I, Section 2(b) of the Charter of the City of Plaquemine to reflect the six (6) new election district boundaries for the Board of Selectmen of the City of Plaquemine.  The new election district boundaries are based upon result from the 2020 Federal Census.  Any citizen may lodge a protest against the proposed amendment to the Charter with the City Clerk, Roxane Richard, at City Hall, First Floor, 23640 Railroad Avenue, Plaquemine, Louisiana 70764, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. beginning Tuesday, January 17, 2023 thru Tuesday, February 28, 2023.  The proposed new election district boundaries for the Board of Selectmen of the City of Plaquemine are on file with the City Clerk for viewing in written legal description form and on the City’s website at www.plaquemine.org/ and a color-coded map of the six (6) selectmen election districts is available in the office of the City Clerk.
